Roman Empire: Rise of Rome is an engaging real-time strategy game that offers players a unique opportunity to experience the rise of the Roman Republic and its journey towards becoming a powerful empire. Rather than relying on flashy advertisements, the game focuses on providing an immersive historical experience.
As the leader of a faction located near Rome, players must capture the city and establish a senate and city republic. However, this is just the beginning of the adventure. Players must lead their people, city, and senate to victories against the enemies of the Republic of Rome.
The conquest begins with battles against Capua, Pompeii, and Veii – the neighboring city-states. The next challenge is stopping an invasion by Gaul Tribes, followed by conflicts with the central italic country known as the Samnites. Successfully defeating the Samnite Republic will grant players control over central Italy – a crucial stepping stone towards becoming a dominant power in the Italian peninsula and the central Mediterranean sea zone.
The Roman Empire's ambitions extend far beyond central Italy. Players will also face off against an ancient Albanian kingdom known as the Kingdom of Epirus. With King Pyrrhus leading them, the Kingdom of Epirus seeks to prevent the advance of the Roman Republic by answering the call of rival city-states. Players must engage in two costly battles known as the Pyrrhic wars.
Victory against the Kingdom of Epirus enables players to capture southern Italy, but their triumph is short-lived as Gaul tribes launch another invasion from the north. To secure northern Italy, players must emerge victorious in three costly wars. Once this conquest is complete, they will face their most formidable opponent – Carthage! Carthage controls large islands and Northern Africa, making it a formidable force to reckon with. In order to assert Roman dominance, players must capture Sicily, Sardinia, and Corsica before taking on the great Carthaginian General Hannibal.
Roman Empire: Rise of Rome offers a real-time strategy experience set in medieval times. Players can take up arms, lead their armies into battle, and engage with all the nations located in Italy during this era. The game provides an immersive experience, where players can make use of various warriors and witness historical battles take place on detailed battlefields.
As the third medieval battle game developed by Ladik Apps, Roman Empire: Rise of Rome promises to deliver an exciting gaming experience, following in the footsteps of its predecessors "Medieval Battle" and "Medieval Times: Holy Land Wars." The developers also have plans to release more historical war games, including ones focusing on the Ottoman conquests and the Roman conquests of the Balkans, Greece, and Egypt. Fans of historical wars games should keep an eye out for future releases.
